Ecomax range of combination boilers and system boilers 824E | 828E | 835E | 600 Series

The Ecomax range of boilers, are reliable, and efficient.

Hello, and welcome to our Vaillant Ecomax page.
The Ecomax range of condensing combination and system boilers ceased production around 2005. The boilers are well constructed, with reliable components, and has excellent access for repairs and maintenance. Complimented with simple easy to use controls for the consumer.

Generally, the boiler doesn't suffer common faults. If the heating system is clean and free from corrosion, the ECOMAX 800 & 600 series will last for years. There are still 1000's of them delivering hot water and heating all over the UK.

Good quality, and regular servicing will reduce running costs, and breakdown costs to a minimum.
If your Ecomax has been condemned, then it might be worth paying a few quid for a second opinion.

Some things to watch out for...

  • Rubber hose connections leak, and need replacing from time to time.
  • Plastic condensate collector (behind main heat exchanger) can split or fracture with age.  Essential to check this on service visits.
  • Metal strainer filter can block up easily, and will need removing and rinsing occasionally.
  • Individual pumps for different models.
  • Combustion seals are critical, and MUST be changed every 5 years minimum on services.
  • Ecomax 835E and 635E models require a very specific pump replacement (part No. 19-0959).
  • Internal condensate pipe (corrugated) can split or become brittle with age. Change it every few years.
  • Internal filling loop mechanism is bloody awful. Fit an external one for a tenner.
